I am a small college football player and I am very strong for my size (Defensive Back) but I am to the point on my bench and a few of my other key lifts were I seemed to have plateau and can't break through. I have tried tons of different supplements but I haven't had any that I feel that just takes me to that next level. Does anybody have any good chest workouts or any workouts in general that you would be willing to share that may help me?
Thanks alot in advance. |

mix up your routine completely. If youve been using a bar, go to dumb bells. If youve been using dumb bells use a bar. Change up the reps to. Go two weeks were you focus on 8-12 two weeks were you focus 1-6, and two weeks of 12-20. Up your diet also. More calories you have to burn the better. _________________ ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, IFPA, ISSA - CPT

Yeah I agree don't just stick to doing flat bench with a barbell.. do some incline.. use dumbbells, do cross overs and flyes.. do wide grip and close grip
Build up your triceps too |

+1 for variety
Not only mix up the exercises, but try mixing up the reps and resting times between sets. As well as supersetting and drop sets....slight advanced stuff, but something you can try.
drop set ex) on the flat bench after you do your heaviest set, most people tend to do a med light/high reps set to end it (after waiting a min or so). Try dropping the weight of your heaviest set and immediately burn out another 6-8 reps...if you really want to get intense, drop it down again and do ANOTHER 6-8 reps.....guaranteed to give your a chest a pump like no other. _________________ Are You Tired Of NOT Being Noticed?

Actually, the chest component of each workout takes only about 10 minutes to complete. You'll hit it hard using supersets and tri-sets with little rest in between, then train the rest of your body in the remaining 20 minutes. This will allow you to maintain size and strength everywhere else, as well as cause the release of muscle-building hormones that will enhance the results you see in your chest. |
