The reason i was wanting to join the U.S Marines is to get citizenship there but i found out that i have to be a citizen FIRST .
I have no desire to join the army it's just the money that interests me and i thought i get citizenship.
I'm moving back to ireland in a year or so to see if i can wrestle, i found a pro wrestling school called Irish Whip Wrestling so i'll try my best at that, i might join the irish army first to make money first but not sure if they'll let me in with a hip replacment.
What do you guy's think the chances of them rejecting me on them grounds. If i can pass the medical they shouldn't be allowed to reject me could they??? _________________ M.P.C Sports Specialist(Sports Hypnotist), N.C.E.F Gym Instructor, Lifeguard, Assistant Swim Teacher, 1st Aider.

bro i know plenty of soldiers who are NOT US Citizens, you need to talk to a better recruiter. My current readiness NCO is from the philipines... as for hip replacement, dont say anything. if youve got noticeable scarring they may ask you about it when you inprocess, this can give them cause to peek into your civilian medical history. otherwise keep ure mouth shut and play dumb, i would say it depends on the actual scarring |

Well the scaring is very noticeable, there's 2 scars running side by side, bout 6-7 inches long but i'v got no hip pains and CAN run, i'm a bit unfit but a few months running will sort that.
I reckon i'm as physicaly able as any1 else and if i can do weighted squats that surely proves that im able.
As for needing to be a citizen to join, i rang marine recruitment office in New York, it was a quick conversation. I asked wot i needed to join and he said citizenship or had to have residency. Maybe he was just a dick or just a lazy prick. any info or numbers you can give me would be great. _________________ M.P.C Sports Specialist(Sports Hypnotist), N.C.E.F Gym Instructor, Lifeguard, Assistant Swim Teacher, 1st Aider.

best way is to take an afternoon and go down to a recruiters station, check out phonebook, head in and they will be more forthgiving about what the regulations are. if marines blow u off, fuck em go army airborne |

I'm living in spain at the moment so i cant get to a recruiting office.
I'll try the irish army 1st
The way i see it is, if i can pass a fitness i should be good to go, RIGHT?
If they reject me that should mean the u.s will 2.
I realy appreciate your help on this "standard603" coz this shit could shape my life, Thanks
Does any1 have a story, personaly or know a mate that got rejected on medical grounds. _________________ M.P.C Sports Specialist(Sports Hypnotist), N.C.E.F Gym Instructor, Lifeguard, Assistant Swim Teacher, 1st Aider.

I garauntee you if any army finds out you have a hip replacement they will deny you, on the grounds that you will be a liability.
Army airborne? With a hip replacement? What good would someone be after dropping in and breaking the replacement. Dead weight. Nothing more.
Even if you're joining for finance reasons or education, you HAVE to think about the individuals you'll be serving with. With a hip replacement will you be 100% able to drag someone to cover [at any given time], or run a mile without fear of something going wrong? Or rucking 3 to 4 miles with 45-100lbs of weight on your back? |

As i said i feel better than i ever have. If i can weight lift, i can do anything, if i can do squats without blowing the hip(which i can) the rest you mentioned would be easy.
I know i can do all you mentioned.
When you go for a medical, are you naked coz if not they wount see the scars.
Will they want to see ALL my medical history.

For a US military physical all i can remember doing that got me naked was dropping my pants so the guy could check for hemorhoids, or whatever he was looking at down there. It's the same physical for all branches. |

Fuck it anyway.
All i can do is hope the irish army ain't as stricked, they are afterall just peace keepers so they mightn't check.

they were part of the KFOR mutlinational defense force over in kosovo / bosnia. didnt do much with them in the field, shot each others weapons, got along well, my entire squad is a group of Mics from south boston so it was fun. |
